![]() ![]() Okay, I'm not even going to try this and get back to you - I am doing these steps as I write this, and let the chips fall where they may: I have pitot heat set to the first switch, that should show as "Joystick button 35" and it works in the sim. I use the Bravo too and the flap switch works fine, it's set up like this: Hi Gary, that is a real tale of woe, there are some outstanding problems I understand but I thought one of the hot fixes addressed it. Then when you leave the page it will ask you to apply and save. You might have written this incorrectly but you need to clear it, bind the switch and then validate it. It DID in FS2020 before SU5 (and the Hotfix, too!) came out. BTW, I also fly in DCS, and everything works over there. So while I love your mapping listing, since I can''t fly, I'm dead in the water. And no one on Asobo even answers my query. This is the same for anything but the axes, ergo, none of my buttons or switches work anymore. But if I try to bind, say, the Flap switch on the Bravo, I first clear the bind and validate, then mouse over the empty box and click down on the Flap lever - the correct switch seems to bind, but when I click on Flaps Down, the switch doesn't show as activated, and nothing happens. In the FS controller section, any axis can be bound, and when done, you can watch the bar slide back and forth as you move them. I have the X-56 HOTAS, Logitech rudder pedals, Bravo quadrant.and I cannot bind anything to the buttons /switches on any peripheral. Since SU5, the only parts of my controllers working are the axes. But I cannot find the answer to my problem, even on the MSFS2020 forums: ![]() Love your guide, and if my controllers were working, it wold be nice. The high-priced add-ons exist and command the prices they do because they far exceed the level of depth of what comes with the sim.I'm still trying to find a more relevant topic for this, but since it has to do with controllers. Many F2P games like World of Warships already do charge $10-20-30-40+ dollars for one new vehicle and the amount of effort involved in that is fractional.įS2020 having its own in-sim marketplace and also being on Xbox allows add-on developers to reach a much bigger pool of potential buyers, and some are responding to this with more aggressive pricing because they don't need to set prices so high just to make a profit anymore, but "study level" add-ons will continue to command a high price because they take months or even years of work and the people who truly want that level of fidelity are willing to pay for it.Įspecially with airliners, the models included with the sim (in either FSX or FS2020) are far from full realism in the way all of the complex systems are represented Microsoft doesn't bother to model them with that level of fidelity because they know 90% of users won't know or care about the difference. Typically these add-ons are also made by very small teams, sometimes only 2-3 or even lone individuals, not major corporations. This isn't just making a pretty 3D model. has always been one of the great strengths of the MSFS series. You really have no concept of the amount of work that goes into making a high-quality sim add-on aircraft, especially the ones you seem most interested in like modern airliners. The "cottage industry" of third party developers making planes, scenery, etc. from what im seeing these "simulators" are way overpriced anyway, 30 bucks for one plane lol…) (makes you think about the "worthiness" of the product, when a bundle is cheaper than stand alone, doesnt it. ![]() Ps: ill also definitely start with something small like cesna : ) I was really surprised how much is automated nowadays in an "ideal" flight, i mean they even land automatically! yes sure the pilots need to do flaps, and speed and stuff still (i think) but otherwise they dont do much (ideally) lolĪnd yes, thats what Im thinking, its either really fun or really boring hence I dont want to spend much, and i dont even want to download much either, so FSX seems far more suitable for trying things out. ![]() I see, well thats basically all i wanted to know from a "technical" perspective - Im still unsure whats actually included in the base game, 2 hours is probably not much for trying out even the basics… It may or may not be fun and there'll be quite a bit of learning before you can do much but it's possible. If all you want is see the procedures and literally only "operate" the aircraft and that aircraft is an airliner then yes technically almost all you need is a keyboard and click on controls with the mouse. ![]()
